"Maya the Bee" I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with, although there's a giant bug named Maya that's a boss in Ranarok... shehasanitemIneed,curses. >.>;
I do, however, remember "Samurai Pizza Cats"... which I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure that one was a Japan import. Also, I will admit to having watched "Rainbow Brite" once upon a time.
Not all the good old shows were cartoons, either. "Eureeka's Castle" on Nickelodeon was a huge favorite of mine as a kid, as were the live-action "Adventures in Wonderland" and "Dumbo's Circus" on Disney. When I got a bit older, I never missed an episode of "Clarissa Explains it All". "Wild and Crazy Kids", "Salute Your Shorts", and... gah. We had so much good televison; why have things like stupid toilet humor invaded my TV? XD
And for the record, in case anyone's curious - I never liked "Ren & Stimpy". There, I said it. >P

Yes. Samurai Pizza Cats was from Japan. Great dub.
I hated Ren & Stimpy too.
Since we're reminicing about old 80s and early 90s TV shows, does anyone remember The Equalizer? I loved the theme song, though I can't really remember anything actually about the show, other than that I liked it.

Eureeka's Castle was one of my favorites! In fact, I almost mentioned it in my last post. The theme song for that show was awesome. I also like Rainbow Brite.
I was the biggest fan of Clarissa Explains It All you ever knew. I absolutely must have watched that show everyday. I was also attached to Melissa Joan Hart in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I grew up in high school and college into an adult just as Sabrina did. I had been a fan of ABC's TGIF sitcom lineup when I was a kid and throughout the 90s. In actuality, I've thought some 'girl' shows were good-- e.g. I used to watch My Little Pony Tales when I got home from school when I was a high school freshman.
"Adventures in Wonderland" was also one of my most favorite shows. They aired it longer in Canada than they did in the U.S., so I really got my dose of it. I used to watch it every afternoon. I also watched Dumbo's Circus (Does anybody remember Q.T. and Fair Dinkum?) and the old Winnie the Pooh live action series. I also got excited whenever they aired DiC's Madeline specials. All those shows where on the Family Channel.
I loved Samurai Pizza Cats also. That came out in 1990 I think. That show was so funny. It had a lot of self-parody.
I've never heard of The Equalizer.
These days, I don't watch anime at all-- just mostly Discovery Times Channel and Science Channel.

The Equalizer was a TV Action-Adventure show, kind of like the A-Team, but with One Guy who Did Stuff. They've been showing it in the mornings on Spike, but I never get to watch it.
It's been basically forgotten. When it comes available on DVD, I'm gonna get it. Love the theme song.
Right now anime-wise, I'm trying to find some stuff out about Fate //StayNight and Ergo Proxy. Both look pretty cool.

Joseph, I had forgotten about the live action Winnie the Pooh and Madeline, but now that you mention them, I did watch those, too. So many good shows... natsukashii... ^_~
Sorry for the random Japanese; I'm typing up our final project. XD
Anime... I've been really wanting to sit down and watch Gundam Wing again, but have had no time to do so, unfortunately. I'd also like to borrow my friend's DBZ boxset... I've never seen it in Japanese.
Also, I am VERY excited for my final in my Japanese Pop Culture class - I get to write my final paper on the censorship that went on when Yu-Gi-Oh! got imported to the U.S. :D I'm so happy I get to be a total spaz for that class. XD
I can't WAIT until Thanksgiving break, though. Bring on the non-cafeteria food! I miss my mommy. ;_;

I remember the Madeline books and that there was a live action movie. It seems the Curious George movie has come and gone with no fanfare.
Gundam Wing... if I watch that again, it'll be in Japanese. Just because. I think I actually got my dad to watch that show in its entirety.

I'll be spending Thanksgiving with my mom, dad, aunt, and uncle. Right now this uncle and aunt are on a trip to the Grand Canyon/Las Vegas, and will make it back here in time for Thanksgiving. And this uncle doesn't bug me as much as my other uncles do, lol. He accepts me for who I am for a change! The only thing is... he asks me boatloads of questions about everything, about the news and my local area and stuff and it kinda makes me realize how little I really know.
I'm a huge Madeline fan. The books and cartoons were better than the live action movie. I actually think the cartoons have better art than the books.
From what I hear, the Curious George cartoon was kinda good.
Speaking of movies, Happy Feet was really great. I really recommend it. It's definitely for music/dance lovers, but it had a good story too.
Liz, you go to a J-pop culture class?? Please tell me what textbook you use! There can't be that much information written about it yet.

Happy Feet has the teaser trailer for the fifth Harry Potter movie tacked on to it. We use four books in the class, Joseph, and also we have readings on the WebCT. The books are: - Japan Pop! Inside the World of Japanese Popular Culture by Timothy Craig - Anime from "Akira" to "Howl's Moving Castle": Experiencing Contemporary Japanese Animation by Susan Napier - The Encyclopedia of Japanese Pop Culture by Mark Schilling - Dreamland Japan: Writings on Modern Manga by Frederik Schodt

Those books sound pretty cool to read. I gotta get the Encyclopedia that you mentioned. "Dreamship" is my new song release. Unlike my previous songs, this one will be in MP3 version. Now I'm registered on GarageBand.com. It's a little scary taking this next big step, but please try out my new song on my band page. Thanks to Brad for helping me with the mixing a bit. I'm having a bit of a hard time describing what my own music sounds like, so I need some help with descriptions and similar artists to me. I finally got my Gummi Bears DVD. It is just wonderful. Everything was good-- the animation, the acting, the music, the story. They don't make 'em like this anymore. The show features some of my favorite actors-- Lorenzo Music, June Foray, Katie Leigh, and Jim Cummings -- who also does the voice for Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.

Mixing? What'd I do?

Well, you helped me amplify it, didn't you? I followed your advice using the software you mentioned, "mixing" meaning all types of audio manipulation.

I got a mishmash of different CDs lately. I like German Musik. Their CDs don't have shrink wrap. I just got two German releases -- Sylver - "Cross Roads" and X-Perience - "Take Me Home." I was sorta disappointed with Sylver's new release, but I love X-Perience's album. It's rather old... from 1997, but it's very good with traditional dance/trance. It's not too fast, it's moderate. I just can't get enough of it. The singer's voice is light, dainty, and almost operatic. The lyrics are great, too. X-Perience has not been released in the U.S., so must be imported. I first heard of them by checking out Amazon.de. I like to check out that site because the Germans have very good dance music. Sylver's best album is Little Things. Little Things is one of my favourite albums of all time. Instead of just plain love songs, they feature a lot of songs about fear, darkness, and unbridled passion. You can't beat their lyrics. But in Cross Roads, they go too far into funk/R&B that's too far away from their roots. Like you, Brad, I also found an 80s album that I liked. Have you ever heard of TKA? They were a band back in the 80s. It turns out I just love their music, and very inspirational, so I got their Greatest Hits album.

X-Perience sounds like it's Jimi Hendrix influenced, is it?
I've listened to all the songs by Seona Dancing and I LOVE "More to Lose" it's awesome.
If Ricky Gervais was to release an album now he'd sell a pile of CDs, if only because he's a bit more famous now than he was 24 years ago. He even sang in the episode of the Simpsons he wrote and guest starred in.

Don't ask me about American classic rock. My knowledge of it is next to zilch. Although I've heard essentially every Beach Boys song there is. Lol.
When I think about it, TKA is kind of like an American form of Two-Mix. It's got the multi-layered synth in beautiful compositions, and that exciting dancey feel, but can still showcase that hip, funk style. TKA is a dream come true for me!
