I find it highly unlikely that 58 people perused the website today, let alone at the same time.
This board is deader than it's ever been. Richard's gone, Liz is who knows where, and the only people who post any more are Joe, Molotov, ratboy, and myself.
I know Move news is scarce at the moment, but does that mean we should abandon this place in the slow periods? No. If new people show up and see that no new posts have been posted in months, why would they stay?

I still browse the forum daily. I've been pretty busy lately, hence my lack of posts. Also the lack of practically any move information means I haven't really had much to post about :/

A few years ago, on a Staind fansite, people were waiting for any news of their 4th album (14 shades of grey), and even though there was no information from the band for a good 2 months, the forum was still active with talk about old Staind shows, people wanting the band to go perform in their hometown, etc. (there were no trolls either) There were about 20 active posters, and some people who were looking for news/multimedia/whatever dropped by and said a little something. I don't see how we can't do that on this website. I try to bring up topics every now and then, but after a few responses, the thread usually dies.

Wow, Richard lives. I thought he died.
Staind is an American band, in all actuality, it's very possible for Staind to visit different cities and states in the US, but, Move is a Japanese band, and other than the obvious language barrier, there's also the barrier over whether or not they'd sell enough tickets to break even.

Yeah, there's definitely an immediacy barrier that affects the participation on this site. Pretty much, people know information on Move is hard to come by and may end up just looking to this site for that info and nothing more. It's not like we can all talk about how cool their last concert in <insert big city name here> was. Or how it compared to their tour 5 years ago. I do expect discussions of anything Move-related to be sparse and to swell with the news-worthiness. (i.e. large amounts of posts we get when an album hits, vs trickles for singles and nothing for in between).
Having said that, I do wish more people looked to this site for more than just Move discussions. Sometimes I wonder if people even are aware that they CAN talk about whatever they want to here. But then, all the forum titles and explanations are right on the front page. I don't know of any way to make it more explicit.
As for 50+ people online at once. My guess is that, sadly, 90+% of our memberships are fake. Especially when I have to clear out that once-monthly link-o-rama that someone with too much time on his hands keeps posting under a multitude of non-reg'ed guest names.

Liz has a job that requires her attendance 9 hours a day. x___x
My school didn't let out until May 26th, I took two weeks off during which I slept ridiculously, and I just started work today.
That, and half the reason I don't post here much anymore is BECAUSE it's so dead. Lack of m.o.v.e. activity = lack of Liz activity. I honestly don't come here much for the other sections; I come here for m.o.v.e.
None of you guys probably want to talk about the girly stuff I like to talk about anyway. >.>;

That, and half the reason I don't post here much anymore is BECAUSE it's so dead. >.>; That's the chicken-and-the-egg problem, though. If more people continue to post, then it won't be so dead, and then people won't stay away just because it's dead.

True ture. There is nothing to talk about. I really see this as a info source rather than a community... Although i want to see it as a community, we dont have alot of perma user. People assumed that the DL section contained mp3 and thats reason why they sign up.
However, if you want to start a convo about the DS lite and what games should i get for it, ill be happy to give it a go.

Haha, thats the reason why I signed up. Makes me wonder if this site will ever post a song for other people to sample (not counting near-impossible to find works), like gamble rumble or something. Then maybe the new people who downloaded those would comment on it, etc. and that would make the discussion boards more active.

Oh wait a minute, you can't even post links to mp3 / PVs on here! (see the dogfight thread in the romancing train section) unless if you ask for permission! Sadly, a forum without many available downloads and an almost-dead forum isn't going to get very far for a music group.

That's kind of sad, though, if we have to bribe people with music. Why can't you just join up because you like the band? I'm guilty of mp3 pirating, for sure, though lately I just download singles and then purchase the full albums + DVD when they come out, but I also fully respect the fact that the mods here have disallowed it on the forum. That's why there are things like Limewire, mIRC, torrents, etc.
Granted, I've only purchased everything Move's put out from Painless Pain and forward, since that's what they were releasing around the time I discovered them; everything they put out before that, my friends downloaded and sent me or put on CDs for me. It's all out there, you just have to put some effort into finding it. o.o;

I guess it's of some consolation that this thread got some of the people here out of hibernation.
Speaking of MP3 pirating, I have the theme song to Final Fantasy XII in English and Japanese, along with that singer's version of Eyes on Me (brilliant). My friends call me the master librarian due to my skill at finding information.
Also, I just remembered that I predicted some years ago that Move would have a full English language album out in the US by the middle of this year, well, I was wrong it seems.
And Liz, I enjoyed your company in talking to you.
And thus spake me.
