Okay, so they're J-rock, not J-pop - so what? XD
Anyone else like them besides me? Janne da Arc is my second fave (topped only by Move, of course ^_^).

Oooooh, I'm a fan of Janne da Arc!
Their music is reminiscent of Konami's DRACULA BATTLE video-game soundtrack series IMO.
I really like the beginning parts of their songs...they're always varied.

I am reviving this topic because: A. there are a bunch more members now, B. the board's been pretty dead again, and C. in the recent absolute lack of Move news, I have been forced to turn to my second favorite band for musical entertainment. (Not that that's necessarily bad.) That said... I know effing NOTHING about JdA. I JUST found out today what the members' real names are. XD; It seems rather difficult to find any real info about them, though, just that they started out doing indies and debuted as a visual kei band in order to get noticed, and have since toned it down a bit. (Though personally, Yasu in leather is fine by me. >.> Also, Yasu's voice is FRICKIN' AMAZING. I've been watching youtube vids of their live shows all afternoon, and his voice is gorgeous. You can tell he's not lip-synching, and yet... his voice sounds almost as good (sometimes even better than) as on the CDs. Blows my mind. Watching the instrumental solos, I totally envy all their talent, though. Yasu, You, Kiyo, Shuji, and Ka-yu are all really good at what they do, respectively, and they really mesh well together. I really hope that I get to see them live while I'm in Japan...

They'll most likely live in Japan whether you see them or not.

FUN FACT (that, since I suck, I just discovered yesterday)!
Motsu did a remix of Janne Da Arc's "seal" which is on their RED ZONE single. It's called "seal ~Gang Bang in SOVIET mix~".
Ah, my two favorite bands working together. That should happen more often.

I only managed to hear a few songs from them, and it reminded me some Siam Shade.
But I also managed to watch You's educational video for guitar players, which is properly INSANE, and I mean it. Even if my skills are way far to be enough to pretend to train at this level, I found it harder that Dream Theater's John Petrucci's "Rock Discipline", at least more impressive. The final instrumental song that You plays on acoustic guitar is incredibly technical and nevertheless, beautiful.
