Wow...thats an awesome album. Although i do doubt that it will sell well (move did not that good on oricon the last years...), its kinda back to the roots thing. Not that i did not like the last albums (i loved the whole blastmydesire-thingy), and i liked some songs on boulder too...(Considering Tropican trops...well lets just pretend it has never been released). Well....i won't do any explicit review on each one of the songs, since it IS late here and i do have an exam on friday, i hardly prepared anything for...but since i got hands on my copy of grid...OMG...just a few comments GRID starts with a prelude called GOTHICA...my first thought, was that the album will continue the rock sound we heard from "blast my desire" and "painless pain"... 2. FADED is more slow hiphop with opera-elements..well...i dont like it really 3. ANGEL EYES -> cd-single (ok) 4. DISCO TIME (i love it..) appears to me like from the words of the mind-era 5. WHITE FOX (ballad)...its ok..similar to cafe roza 6. THIS IS MY HEARTACHE....good...reminds me of freezing-rain a tiny bit...still to little beat and bass in there for my taste 7. NAMIDA 3000....similar to noizy tribe...love it 8. MISHA ...some interlude track..reminding me of the old SNES-Games...kawaiii...but i dont get its function here 9. FREAKY PLANET...-> cd-single....good song...boulder-style i'd say 10. GIRL...up-beat dance song...like it very much...electrock-era-style with much rap 11. DESINFECTED GENERATION...good song...bmd-style...ok 12. REIMEI - like the duett... my most favourite track atm is 13. Sail away...its so...wow...when it set in..i thought, yuri would just start singin blue jewel, come together or 1969 at least...OMG ...i am freaking out at the moment...its so similar to the real-move-style i loved... 14. Freaky planet -rosy mix-....its ok....a remix...but not one of my favourites 15. GROOVY PLANET - LONDON STOMP MIX-...well...kinda daft punk-style...like it, not the best one....just a mix.. So all in all i think it WAS worth the money buying..there have been much worse discs i've bought recently...still..i think its too diverse...still they could 've stayed with the two styles (synergy-dance and some blastmydesire-dance-rock)...no mixes please (they are not that good) So much from my knocked-off-brain...now i am heading to sleep and you guys go get the album and tell me what you think! BB

the best song is Misha lol i love the retro feel. other then that, the cd is too far from the synergy move that i love. I think that theres too much rap on motsus side in this cd and taht kinda ruins it. o well. Still a great cd, if not only cuz move made it.
edit. I love the Freaky Planet rosy mix. something about it makes it awesome to me

so i am not the only one thinking, that synergy is still their best album?
Actually i dont think that motsus rap is that bad..it fit(ted?) very well on the deepcalm-songs... i just heard the album in its whole compilation....and i have to say: it becomes better as you listen to it... Still SAIL AWAY will remain my most favourite track here....waiiii...loveitloveitloveit

I was not too pleased with this album but it really made me think that they were going back to their roots... which is good! Let's hope the next album will do the same.
I actually prefered Boulder over this album just because this album was a bit too poppy for me. The songs all sounded too drenched, in my opion. Sure, I love move's poppy/techno stuff but this album was too much in one dose. But yes, SAIL AWAY is without a doubt the best song on the album! My god, it was such a suprise!
Maybe I didnt' like this album because I didn't really like the recent singles they put out.. but I still love move regardless.
1. GOTHICA (so-so intro track) 2. FADED - A pretty good track, I guess. Not really to my liking. 3. ANGEL EYES - Eh, I don't really like it.. Too synthed-up melody 4. DISCO TIME - This is when the album gets pretty good. It's an alright song. 5. WHITE FOX - A slower ballad song. You know what to expect. 6. THIS IS MY HEARTACHE - another slower song. 7. NAMIDA 3000 - It's a good fast song! Cheers! Probably my second favorite song on the album. 8. MISHA - an instrumental song leading up to Freaky Planet. 9. FREAKY PLANET - Single. You know what to expect. 10. GIRL (YOU WANNA MOVE) - An upbeat song. Pretty interesting. 11. DISINFECTED GENERATION - A harder song. 12. REIMEI - Single 13. SAIL AWAY - Oh god, here we go! The best song on the album! 14 - 15 - remixes

Overall I like this album, but it starts to be really good from track 7. Not that the previous songs aren't good, but they don't "shine", in my opinion. But from track 7, it's revving up ! Namida 3000 and Disinfected Generation mix earlier m.o.v.e's tunes with the rock sound of Boulder, Misha is just so funny and inexpected, Raimei and Freaky Planet were my fave A-sides of the recent singles and hell they included they hottest B-sides too ! Really good 2nd half of the album. Concerning the remixes, at 1st I had absolutly not idea of what to expect :generally speaking, I don't like remixes too much, if m.o.v.e decided to include them in the album, well... And I was highly enthusiasted by them . The -rosy mix- start in such a frightening way, and evolute with a really good harmony between rythm and atmospheric feels. The -LONDON STOMP MIX- has this trance/club feel that I enjoy too. Even it doesn't have a really over outshining track (I'm tempted to say a la Dogfight), it's a good album. 8.5/10 !

I have to say I probably would of liked this album a lot more if i didn't get the singles. My favorite songs and it seems to be everyone else's, is a tie between Namida3000 and Sail Away. I liked Faded a lot (reminded me a lot of the DeepCalm album) which was one of my favorites. Disinfected Generation is also another solid track. The only single out of the 4 that I really liked was Raimei, and as far as thier B side is conncerned it was Girl. Can't say I am liking their remixes though it lacked the vocals. Nevertheless, another good Album from m.o.v.e. It should hold me over until another release.

Only a couple songs on this album that I would continuously listen to - Disinfected Generation and Sail Away. I absolutely hate Misha, the Freaky Planet remixes (there were much better ones on acidplanet.com), Disco Time, Faded, and Gothica. The rest were OK. I regret getting this album, and should have bought the Fast Forward remix album I was planning to get. I would advise people to avoid buying this album and to find something better. Electrock and Synergy still remain my top 2 favourite albums.

judging from the songs on Grid, i think Fastfoward is not worth your 25 dollar. I regretted buying that album. There is only 1 or 2 song that i liked from that album, the others are.... crap..

Man, I'm a late-comer on this one, but my copy just arrived in the mail yesterday. (How DID you people get yours so fast? Or did all you you early reviewers just dl it ?) Whenever I get a new Move CD, I always get stuck on it for it days, listening almost exclusively to it. This latest offering certainly has not failed to do just that. Ever since my copy arrived yesterday, I’ve been listening to it almost non-stop. I think many people are put off by this album simply because of its start. We’re used to Move starting with one of their more powerful tracks as the first (or second if there’s an intro track) track on the album, and this time, they chose not to do that. Personally, I love Faded, especially as an opening track. What I felt it accomplished was that it established how this album was going to concentrate more on Yuri and Motsu’s vocals than some of the songs on the last couple of albums have. (On almost every song on Deep Calm, it seems like you’re flooded with the instrumentals and almost have to work to appreciate the vocals; that is not the case on this album.) This idea plays through the rest of the album, especially with Kimura playing so much with their voices and morphing them into voxes on so many songs. To me, overall, this album had the feeling of being an extension of the style/expression captured by Noizy Tribe on the last album. Many of the songs sound like they share a common root with this track, especially in the way Kimura tried to mix the electronica sounds with the rock riffs and beats. Having not heard the previous 4 singles, I absolutely loved listening to this album from beginning to end. I think the only song that I was really disappointed on was White Fox; it just doesn’t do anything for me. I think the strongest songs on this album may be the A-sides from the previous singles, with Freaky Planet being my favorite track on the album, Disco Time a close second. As for the B-sides and new tracks, I really liked Girl(You Wanna Move) (this one's probably tied with Disco Time for my 2nd favorite- I love the continued use of Arab instrumentals on this one), Namida 3000, and Disinfected Generation. And even though I think the track Misha(skit) is a bit of a misnomer, I really loved this track. It reminded me of something from an RPG for the SNES. I think Kimura’s use of those kinds of sounds on this track is really creative. So, all in all, I was very pleased with this album. I know that, with Move, you can’t really say “this is a good sign of things to come,” because their next work may be totally different, but if they decided to settle on this style, I would have absolutely no problems with it!

Gothica's short, but cool. Kinda pirate-y, actually. T-Kimura's music seems really complex compared to other artists; anyone else agree with me? Like, when I listen to the instrumentals on the last 4 singles and B-sides, the music just seems to have more going on in each than most other singers' instrumentals that I hear. For once, Molotov, I gotta disagree. I don't think "Faded" is lacking any power! I was floored when I first heard it -- which would be right now (I'm listening to the album for the first time AS I type this; I just got it today; college mail situation SUCKS!). Kind of a slower song, but let's not forget how the Deep Calm album (which I adore) began with "Reality". I think the two songs sound quite similar, but not similar enough to be repeats of each other. I love the chorus-like singing throughout the background. I DO however agree about the vocal focus that it indicates for the whole album. ... Skipped ahead to "White Fox" now, since I've heard AE (I _SWEAR_ I'm going to write that friggin' review someday... *keels over* it was supposed to be a series *cries and digresses*) and DT. It's a lovely ballad-type song. It reminds me vaguely of "Blue Jewel", if only because of the fairytale-like quality of it. The style of the singing, both in Motsu's and Yuri's cases, makes me recall "It's Only Love". Really soft piano during Motsu's first rapping section; I kinda like that effect. Sounds a bit more - I hesitate to say "frantic" since I know approximately nothing about what the song's really about, but - frantic in the second section. ... Have heard TIMH, so on to "Namida 3000". More robot-T-Kimura voice! Woohoo! *grins* This is one of m.o.v.e.'s, what I like to call, "get up and bounce around like a maniac" songs. ^^; Maybe that's just me. But at least it's a song you can bob your head to. If anyone else has seen the DVD - this is the song they were playing during the PSP Initial D game commercial, if I'm not mistaken. For a song (apparently) about tears (namida = tears), it's pretty freakin' happy-sounding. XD; What I wouldn't give to understand the words... *sighs* At least I'm on my way, XD; *digresses again* Sorry; I can't write these things without going on little tangents about my personal life. ^^;;; "Misha"... this DOES sound like something from a really old-school video game. XD; Although why it's called a skit when it doesn't really have any voices in it, I'm not really sure. Not sure I could listen to it on repeat (much like I can't play old-school video games for hours at a time), but it's not awful. Kind of goofy... ... Heard FP and G(ywm)... *skips ahead* "Disinfected Generation". By title alone - this is what I want to do to everyone in my former high school's current Senior class. >.>; The song itself: Yuri's parts in the verses sound really fun, for lack of a better word. Just the bouncy quality of it; it's another head-bob song. I love head-bobbing songs. ^^; Motsu's rapping reminds me fleetingly of "Ghetto Blaster". I quite love the guitar in this song, although the more I hear it the more I want to do the hand jive. *smirk* Have heard "Raimei" and "SAIL AWAY"... since I HAVEN'T gotten around to writing the review yet, though, for the ANGEL EYES single, and going along with my pointing out what they remind me of... "SAIL AWAY", when I first heard it, I thought instantly "Come Together". Then Motsu's first rapping section came around and I sat for about 10 minutes in a state of, "That's really familiar... where have I heard that before...?" And then it dawned on me -- "Let's Rock!" I haven't heard that song in so long that it took me forever to piece it together; I had a line in my head but I couldn't remember it to the end of the verse... So "Come Together" + "Let's Rock!" = "SAIL AWAY". And that's my mini-novel about SA. XD; I love "ANGEL EYES" but I think its B-side totally outdid it. * . *; Working on romanizing the lyrics... *so slow* And that's WITH me knowing hiragana and katakana... *shakes fist at the tiny kanji in the lyric book* Can't count the strokes because they're so SMAAAALL... *whining* The FP -Rosy mix- isn't too bad... but I think I'd like it a lot better if it was the Japanese version and not the English version. Love m.o.v.e. Love that they're making an effort to sing in English. BUT. That's just it - you can hear the effort in the songs. They sound forced; the Japanese sounds a lot more natural (gee, I wonder why?). I mean, I always go on about how I love the English version of "DOGFIGHT", but I don't like it BETTER than the original; I just like that I got a translation, and IMO, it's the best adaptation they've done so far, so kudos to whomever translated it. Going off on a tangent again... I really don't have a lot to say about the remix. I DO like it... HOWEVER... I like "Groovy Planet -London Stomp Mix-" better. That's the one that won at AcidPlanet, right? Gotta admit, it's pretty good. I like what they did with Yuri's "lalalala"s. ^_^ Made it sound pretty damn cool, I think. *looking for the remixer in the credits of the lyric book* AcidPlanet's there... but unless they got the person's real name, I don't see them here... Yuri's two dachshunds are in the Special Thanks section again, though. *grins* So's Anime U.S.A. (COME TO NEW ENGLAAAAAAAND!!! IN THE SUMMER!!!) This is becoming a pattern. I totally adore this album. Again. I'm so biased... I don't think I could ever completely dislike something m.o.v.e. puts out... although there are maybe 2 songs that they've done in the past that I wasn't particularly fond of, and I can name them both - "Creamy Soup" cuz it kind of scares me, and "Mission 2 Gemini" because it sounded rushed to me. Anyhow, this whole album, as Furik said, seemed to remind me of past songs... but I _LIKE_ their past songs, and they're only reminiscent of them, not duplicates of them, so I don't mind at all. ^__^ *Scans over post* I talk waaaaaaay too much. XD;;; SHUTTING UP, NOW!

lol Mystical, you seemed on crack writing this review XD. Your remarks about NAMIDA are hilarious, but true indeed. Hearing Motsu singing a "in the name of love" line is just . And the break after the "a tear drops" passage sung by Yuri is, imo, the best moment of the album. This one with SAILAWAY, after some days of listening, are really taking some lengths versus the other songs.

Man, I'm a late-comer on this one, but my copy just arrived in the mail yesterday. (How DID you people get yours so fast? Or did all you you early reviewers just dl it ?) I am not afraid to say that I have DL-ed the album ... mainly because I have decided to BUY it off YesAsia. ^_^ 01 - "Gothica (Symphony No.1)" ... the opening instrumental sounds like an armageddon-like track. It is an odd way to set up the rest of the album. 02 - "FADED ~Iro Aseta Arubamu" ... I like this song. It is very reminiscent of "Painless PAIN", especially with motsu's rapping. 03 - "ANGEL EYES" ... heard it already when the single came out. 04 - "DISCO TIME" ... heard it already when the single came out. 05 - "White Fox" ... this is probably my least favourite track. I have nothing else to say about it. 06 - "This is my heartache" ... heard it already in the "DISCO TIME" single. I like those "beeps" that comes after the chorus. 07 - "NAMIDA 3000" ... this song is fast-paced and upbeat. I like motsu's parts in the song. As mentioned earlier, the chorus is reminiscent of "Noizy Tribe". 08 - "MISHA (Skit)" ... this track really gave me a WTF reaction when I first heard it. It is really retro. Since I am an old-school gamer, I found the track to be quite pleasant. LOL 09 - "FREAKY PLANET" ... heard it already when the single came out. 10 - "GIRL (you wanna move)" ... heard it already in the "Raimei ~out of kontrol" single. 11 - "Disinfected Generation" ... this is my favourite new song in the whole album. It is reminiscent of their "DECADANCE" and "Deep Calm" days, but not as dark. 12 - "Raimei ~out of kontrol~" ... heard it already when the single came out. 13 - "SAIL AWAY" ... heard it already in the "ANGEL EYES" single. It is one of my favourite songs, along with Track 11. 14 - "FREAKY PLANET (rosy mix)" ... It is okay, but I think they should have remixed another song (like "DISCO TIME" perhaps). Because of my participation in the ACIDplanet contest, I am sick of the single in general. LOL 15 - "Groovy Planet (London Stomp Mix)" ... heard it already on ACIDplanet.

Hmm... Eurobeat is a good remix album, kinda old, but it is good IMHO.
I mean, seriously, i think that fastfoward is just not worth your money... hell ill even give you some sample, and let you judge for your self.
