m.o.v.e has announced on their official site that they will release a new single in collaboration with the rock band 8-ball. The single will be linked to the movie SPEED MASTER.
The single will be m.o.v.e's first release since 2005.
In addition to that, a best-of album to commomerate their 15th anniversary is expected to be released later this year.
(from JaME)
Also the official website has a new look - as do the members! I believe this was talked about in the other thread, but it's still cool.

Wasn't Grid released in the first month of 2006?

Yeah, it was. And also, this year marks m.o.v.e.'s 10th anniversary, not their 15th. o.o; They released "Rock It Down" in 1997.

I have a feeling he may have meant "first single release" since 2005. Late 2005, but 2005 nonetheless.
What I'm more confused by is the "Greatest Hits" album. Why now? Since Rewind, only Boulder and Grid have been released. Doesn't seem like much to work with in releasing a new greatest hits album. Thye haven't even had a remix album in there yet. That would make more sense to me (and prolly make me happier :-p).

Indeed. They just HAD a greatest hits album. I mean, I guess since it's their 10th anniversary they could do a compilation of Burning Dance - GRID, but... nerg... would rather have a whole new album, or like you said, a remix one. C'mon, m.o.v.e. - live up to your name and give us some crazy new awesome stuff! ; . ; So I can whore out my romanizing skillz some more... m.o.v.e. lyrics teach me kanji!

Didn't TK say something about them being in the studio a month ago and caused a paradigm shift?

avex most likely just sees this as another opportunity to make cash on old material. I think they'll end up having songs on the collection from the very start, and have the Best Of album span the 10 years. Why? Because.
At least we're getting a new single...

@ Brad - Let's remember my Japanese is about on par with a Japanese elementary school student, if that. XD; You want to see the brilliant translation of that section that I managed to come up with? It is as follows (question marks indicate missing subject markers and words I couldn't translate):
Comparatively, in the center of (my?) brain in 2006 (we) did nothing but self-satisfaction activity, but 2007 is a paradigm shift ??? I'm thinking I want to get on with life in the music world
Already, for four days we've restarted recording, 'turned over the toy box' kind of track work is being done
Yeah. Best I can do at current. Interpret that as you will. x__X;
@ HeartlessCloud - Very possible, though it still kind of sucks. You're right, though; at least we get a new single out of the deal. I just hope it gets released like a proper single. What in the world ever happened to that "Good Day, Good Time" song???????

I'm guessing that means they're collaborating with Shael Riley who recently released his awesome CD, Toy Box. JK.
Has anyone recieved any emails from AVEX/Move about this?

What in the world ever happened to that "Good Day, Good Time" song??????? Yeah, I was wondering to myself about that song. I wonder if it was just something done on the side, or even specifically for that project (some show, right?), and m.o.v.e fans, desperate for new material, assumed it would be the new single. O_o

Even if it wasn't a single, it still should have gotten released somewhere... Soundtrack, iTunes, someone recording it off their TV, something...

Has Richard's friend, the Japanese Superfan heard anything?
Speaking of which, I saw Richard on AIM the other day, he still lives.

I haven't the faintest; it's probably been over a year since I last talked to our elusive forum-owner. XD; I never had any correspondence with the Japanese Superfan, myself, so I can't ask him anything.

I've never talked to the Superfan myself either. Richard claims he exists.
But between you and me, I think this superfan is nothing more than Richard in a dress.
