After a year of the GRID-themed layout, m.o.v.e. has finally changed the layout on their official site! This can only mean more wonderful things are ahead. :D

The new site layout is really neat, and a lot more interesting than the GRID layout, IMO. The band's got a funky style for it, too. XD
I just wish they had all of the profiles with an English translation, not just the group profile. Ah well, good stuff. ^_^

What I wish is that I could understand what they're saying in that little video playing at the bottom. XD;

I get the feeling reading subs on such a small video would drive me blind, but yeah, I agree! Gotta keep learning Japanese...

If you mean the SPEED MASTER thing under "Info" that also has something to do with 8-Ball, no, I'm not sure just by looking. :/ If I have time after classes today I'll see if I can figure out the general gist of it, maybe. Unless someone beats me to it; either way. XD; OMFG you're alive! I haven't seen you around in ages, on or off-site. XD How's life?ETA: I did figure out who 8-Ball is - their official site is www.8-ball.jp/top.html here. Apparently they're a four-person rock band who's provided the music for other racing-genre things like m.o.v.e. has done. It looks like they're going to do some sort of music collaboration for a movie called SPEED MASTER. That's all I've got so far. Classes now, though. XD;

slashersam, I'm not sure on a release date yet; the movie's website just seems to say "2007" on it, for now. I'll keep looking though.
I (roughly) managed to translate the first three paragraphs of the announcement; everything after that are things that the movie's cast members were talking about, but I think they're talking more about the movie than about the collaboration between m.o.v.e. and 8-BALL.
Anyway, if I'm understanding correctly, they're trying to make two theme songs for the movie, both with the same title as the movie itself. The website says: SPEED MASTER / m.o.v.e feat. 8-BALL SPEED MASTER / 8-BALL feat. m.o.v.e so, I'm assuming one's going to be m.o.v.e. singing with 8-BALL doing backup, and the other one's going to be 8-BALL with m.o.v.e. doing backup. Most of the second paragraph just talks about m.o.v.e.'s work on "Initial D" and 8-BALL's work on "D1 GRAND PRIX."
It sounds like there might be a contest afterwards to determine which song gets to be the theme; it says something like, "which song will charm people and win perfect marks?" But I don't see any details; there'll probably be more when the songs are finished.
The third paragraph talks about how the announcement for all this was made during the Tokyo Auto Salon, where m.o.v.e.'s first concert of 2007 was held. The actors and their supervisor from the film were there, and then... I'm not really sure about this part. It says they played the "W" theme song (no idea what that is; the only W I know is a super-cute Morning Musume spin-off group), and I think m.o.v.e. and 8-BALL each performed the song. But the words used can translate to "recite" and also "announce" so I'm not really sure.
And then the actors talked about their roles.
Hope that helps!

Gackt had a song called Speed Master on his Moon album. Maybe the 8-Ball and Move thing is just them doing a remix/cover of that song.

8-BALL provided the theme song for the D1GP series (at least on the OPTION VIDEO DVDs) called "Need for speed" while m.o.v.e sponsored Kazama's S15 (2005 D1GP champion) as seen on the left car : (this is the 2006 car) A montage found on Youtube with "Need for speed" (the first 1:30 minutes) youtube.com/watch?v=UVJGMPQD7ZIAbout the new layout, yeah I find it very clean, and that also means that m.o.v.e is still alive ! yoohoohooooo !!!
