Not his Musiclife blog, but the one on electropica. Anyway, T-Kimura updated with a post regarding the New Year (so did Motsu - his says, "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" in Japanese. Heh.). I did my best to translate it, but I'm only going to summarize it here because the translation itself is, to be frank, a piece of crap. >.>;
All right, so he starts off by saying happy New Year. Then he talks about how dramatic 2006 was for the music industry, and mentions Velfarre, a club (I think?) owned by Avex that recently closed, which apparently caused something of an uproar if I'm reading correctly. He said 2006 holds a lot of strong feelings for him.
Then he says that they (presumably m.o.v.e.) spent 2006 doing "self-satisfactory" activities (which I take to mean "we took a break for a while"), and that 2007 is going to be a "paradigm shift" (say what now? It was in katakana) and he says he wants to get on with life in the music world.
Now for my favorite part - he says that as of his writing the message, they've been working on recording for about four days. He describes the style as being like "turning over a toybox," which you guys can interpret as you'd like, because I have no idea what it means. :P
Moving on (haha, pun), he talks about how this year's "first stage" is "the same as every other year - the world's largest cars & women beauty festival, "TOKYO AUTO SALON." He goes on to ask everyone to 'customize the world' and then as an aside, he says, "I wonder if the invitation to "customize" women is misunderstood..." which I personally found amusing.
He talks about the Nintendo Wii, which he says is still in the box, because his son is all over the DS right now playing the new Pokemon games, Diamond and Pearl.
He also talks about, and someone can go ahead and correct me on this, because I had the hardest time translating this paragraph, something from Konami called "Action Soccer"? I've never heard of it. Anyway, he was saying something about how his lifestyle is that of "one who sits in a chair for three years" (i.e. T-Kimura's a couch potato? :P), and that this "Action Soccer" got him out of the chair for a good three minutes. XD
He mentions a bunch of people and talks about how 80s "independent rock" music seems to be coming back, and also something I couldn't translate - katakana "deranje"? I'm not sure what that is. Maybe the name of a group?
He ends the post by saying his "mode" for 2007 is from Italy, and he hopes everyone continues to support m.o.v.e.'s "moving sound". :)
