MOVE may become stronger after this. It is best to try to look at the big picture.

In mid-2002, I was totally distraught because I thought that Dream were not going to release music anymore because Mai was leaving the group.
In addition to that, Two-Mix's three year deal with Warner Music Japan had ended, leaving them without a record label! I was totally disappointed about Two-Mix and Dream! So that's when I started depending on Move a lot.
Now Two-Mix has their own label. And Dream has made their big comeback, and I'm relieved! I just kept on believing in them, and supporting them, and that's what I think we need to do for Move now.

Too True. We need to let MOVE know that we still support them.

Since the first time I looked at Avex's roster of artists, I knew Avex was a huge money hog. They'll do whatever it takes to cover each genre, even if it takes cannbalizing their own sales by making a huge roster of artists.
I already had a feeling that Avex was planning to filter out some artists or bands because they have too many artists and some of them are useless to them!
NOT LIKE i am saying move is useless but it seems Avex has too many artists/bands that some artists/bands cannibalize each others' sales.
ie. DAI, ELT, DAT (especially ELT and DAT)
In this case, ELT would cannibalize DAT's sales and vice versa. And then you'll DAI cannibalize both ELT's and DAT's sales. Sure...DAI and ELT or DAI and DAT have very different sounds, like one uses more synthesizers than the other but not a lot of people are gonna give a damn about if they use synthesizers or not. They'll probably just take notice of the band has a girl and 2 guys, the girl is the singer and the guys play the drums or guitars.
There's some other ones too like:
Ayu vs Namie Amuro vs BoA vs Hitomi vs Koda Kumi Dream vs furupon vs SweetS vs Speed vs Max Exile vs Shinhwa vs DA PUMP vs V6
and a bunch of other jabroni artists/bands that pretty much have no purpose.
my point is, there's a high possibility that Avex wants to eliminate some of the cannibalism going on by cutting out the artists/bands that overlap the similar but more mainstream artists/bands. Ie. I hate to say this but there might be a chance that Avex is gonna take move's competition, which is Globe. Two icons in music are in the group, Yoshiki and TK, that's an awesome force right there. But Yuri's voice and Motsu's rap ownz Keiko and Marc. ;D This possibility is slim btw cause Globe is kinda dead right now ever since they released their last original album, Level 4. After that, they kept pumping out Best of albums. It might be what T Kimura said about the jpop industry being true and both Globe and move are going to be dropped.
Even though I've never heard of Motsu's or T-Kimura's previous works (before move), I think move is the most succesful unit they have ever created and I think they'll get what they deserve and that's a pickup by another major record label. As a matter of fact, I WANT them to be picked up by another major label. That's the only way for move to be big cause if they stay in Avex, all they'll be doing is being forced to job and lay down for Globe.
[rant] In the end, it's all Avex's fault. Oh hell...they even have an artist academy! WTF is that?!?! that's like an artist factory or something. They just keep picking up all these jabronies and make them into something to sell. [/rant]

The only other option is MOVE could go Worldwide.

SSJ, after reading your post, I feel it would be wise to take out the part about loving everything blessed by Avex.

I just can't put into words the grief that I feel.
I checked another BBS to see if this madness has spread to Dream yet, but people have been saying this year is going to be even better than last year for them. We'll see about that.

Is there a chance that move can be picked up by another (and maybe larger) company? And why are they being dropped? (no more disappearing for me, promise)

(no more disappearing for me, promise) well maybe Sony cause I think Motsu's old band was under Sony so maybe Motsu can have some kind of deal with them. OR they can join the EMI group.

Hey as actions speak louder than words, what would you think about if all the many members of this board preordered deep calm to support Move contract with Avex? Ok ok, I now this seems to be only a mere dream, but how sweet it still is...
And in case you're interested, don't forget that yesasia has a shipping fee at least 10usd less expensive than cdjapan, and it becomes totally free if you make an order from about at least 50usd (good opportunity to order also the dvd-audio of super tunes which yesasia says it comes out on the same day than deep calm, else whatever other audio cd or anime dvd you like!).

...And if you live in the UK, you can get it Tax free from YesAsia! Also, with current $ to £ rates, you can get nearly $2 for every pound ;D ;D Edit: The great benefit about preordering Deep Calm is the limited edition, bonus DVD. I'll now be able to see what really went on at Decadance Parade '03.

Unfortunately, orders from different countries don't count towards total sales on the charts, which is what matters the most.

Ha, so is the site of cdjapan a way to support move inside their country, or is there really no other way?

Ha, so is the site of cdjapan a way to support move inside their country, or is there really no other way? Oricon charts, which are the reference in Japan, are established with the charts from these stores: HMV, MUSIC NAVI, SHINSEIDO SHOPPING SITE, Neowing et TOWER RECORDS... (But the amount of sells given by Oricon does not only come from these stores of course). Anyway, CDJapan is Neowing, but I don't think orders from foreign countries are counted in the total domestic sales either.
