Does anyone play this game? It's a fighting game where you can add your own characters, stages, and music and such. I used to play this game under Windows 98 SE. But now I am using Windows XP and can't run this program mainly because it runs under DOS. I hope to restart MUGEN from scratch soon but it's gonna take a while for me to get in the groove (i.e. choose characters, stages, music, etc.). Anyways, if you don't know what MUGEN is, check out this site: www.mugenguild.cjb.net/

Haha nope... they have nothing to do with this game!
The game's name is an acronym for something but even the creators forgot what it stood for.

kenji u have a way to play mugen in xp instead of 98, right click on the dos exe of mugen, choose properties, go to the tab compatibility and check the option to make it windows 98 compatible, and there u r!!!
mugen in japanese stands for infinite, which describes quite well this software which in fact is a 2d fighting editor, allowing you to custom and add any number of characters, stages, and bgm at will.
you can even find complete mugen games of famous games on the net, like samurai shodown, capcom vs snk 2, etc, or big crossover of snk and capcom characters ...

For characters, I got very picky and excluded novelty characters that posed no challenge. Examples of these chars are Mario, Hwoarang, and Jin Kazama. I am aware of MugenBR...after all they host for a lot of creators. This includes one of the best creators for MUGEN ever...Sander71113 !!! His AI rocks!

WinMUGEN wasn't created by ElecByte ... but rather from a group who called themselves ElecByte1. ElecByte seemed to have disappeared from their own MUGEN scene. Anyways, the game is basically a port from the Linux version with some minor additional features. I've actually known of its existence for quite some time now (from Phuck-IGN forums). Here's the link if anyone's interested: www.geocities.com/elecbyte1/winmugen.htmlSince it was hosted on GeoCities, people didn't take the Windows port seriously. Some of the features hasn't been implemented yet (SURVIVAL MODE!!!), but the program is progressing itself. For me, I don't have time for MUGEN anymore ... too much hassle in adding stuff for it. But I do like to play the DOS version at my friend's place ... he has the game hooked up to the TV and we can use PSX controllers instead of the keyboard.
