Around the World is great, isn't it? I've listened to it many times over. I love the semi-gothic photography in the booklet. And the case back cover looks unusually similar to the back cover of Lights 1. Compare them side by side and I think you'll see what I mean.

Where did you guys go?
I just bought Mynt's first CD "Still Not Sorry." They're a dance group with two guys and two girls. I have been looking forward to this CD for a long time because I love their song "Stay." The rest of the songs are great too, including Send Me an Angel. The group basically sounds like 80s techno, but I don't think that any of their songs are covers. I love Mynt.
I recently made an MP3 CD of all of Two-Mix's songs, from BPM 132 through Delta Two -Universe-. There are 166 songs! Why is it that different MP3 players put the songs in a different track order? I don't mind listening to Two-Mix in the car constantly, as long as I don't listen to them too much elsewhere.
By the way, I'm also becoming a soundtrack fan. I recently got the soundtracks for both Over the Hedge and Narnia. Little did I know that they were composed by two brothers: Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hedge) and Harry Gregson-Williams (Narnia). Over the Hedge is the better soundtrack overall, although the singer Ben Folds seems to have a small vocal range. But Harry has done some other great DreamWorks soundtracks.

I dunno about the others; I just got my wisdom teeth yanked and now I'm back to work. I have been listening to a LOT of new music, though. Including some in English (*gasps of shock*). Got Nami's new CD ("Specialty") today; I bought the DVD version cuz I had a coupon over at CDJapan. I also recently aquired Utada Hikaru's "Ultra Blue", T.M. Revolution's "1000000000 Billion", and Panic! At The Disco's "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out". Good times, all around. "1000000000 Billion" is a two-disk compilation of a bunch of TMR's older songs. There isn't a single song on it that I don't like, so I can't really complain. I just got into his stuff within the last year, so a lot of it was new to me anyway. Utada's album REALLY impressed me. I was disappointed with her English album, personally, so I'm glad she finally put out a new one in Japanese. And it's WONDERFUL, in my humble opinion. Opens with a very catchy and fun song, "This Is Love" and closes with the lovely, though non-Kingdom-Hearts-II version, of "Passion" (which I love a great deal more than the English version, "Sanctuary"). By 'non-Kingdom-Hearts-II version', I mean the bit in there that says, "my heart's a battleground" is missing, and instead, there's an extra little verse at the end of the song. Other favorites of mine off that album are "BLUE", "One Night Magic (feat. Yamada Masashi)", and "Nichiyo no Asa". I already liked "COLORS", "WINGS", "Be My Last", and "Keep Tryin'" when they came out, so it was good to hear them on the album as well. Panic! At The Disco is this English rock/electronica band that my friend got me into recently. Some of their song names are ridiculously long (Ex. "There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Figured It Out Yet"), but I really like the style of the music. They've even got the freaky carnival music thing going on in some songs. They set up the tracks so that the first seven have elements of electronica in them, then there's an intermission track, and then the rest of the album concentrates more on piano. Apparently they reference a lot of pop culture stuff that I've never heard of, though. My favorite song on the album, for example, is called "Time To Dance" and is based on the novel "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk. So their album makes me feel somewhat culturally ignorant, but I like the lyrics too much to care. As for Nami's CD... I will have to postpone listening to it until after I have had dinner. I am very hungry, and there is pizza to be had. >.>;

Panic! is a great band. I made an edited version of "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" before I realized I no longer had a radio show to play it on. And it made me sad.
I loved my little radio show. *cries*
I can't believe no Move Boarders called in while it existed, and not even on the Move specials. Well, Kcirtap called in, but he doesn't count.
Moving on... Itai...
One of the songs I'm listening to now is called "Fur Jiang" and you won't find it anywhere. I made it a week ago for a friend of mine, the Jiang in question in the title. A most delightful person indeed.
Other than that, I've been rocking out to Johnny Cash's latest album, man, can dead dudes ROCK! All he ever needed was his voice and a guitar in his hand.
As for Japanese... I love the Black Stones and Trapnest, too bad they're not real bands. Though, I've been listening to loads and loads of Gackt Camui lately. I've found new love in his song... Black Stone.
Life... is moving along rather nicely.
Also, Joe, if you like Gregson-Williams, you should check out his soundtracks to Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. They're brilliant. I really hope he does the music for the movie. It's gonna rock, I mean, Viggo Mortensen as Snake?

I've just been really busy, honestly. My advisors recently told me they want me to graduate early. So I'm trying to get a lot done this summer. Plus, I'm trying to make a case for them letting me do a summer or more abroad after I finish the masters. I will get around to those reviews I wanted to do... maybe . On the plus side, I've been introduced to a used book and music Japanese store near me. There are actually two within an hour of me, and I've been to both now and picked up some CDs for pretty damn cheap. I'm loving Favorite Blue's In The Remix right now. That and M-Flo's live album are probably my proudest used music purchases. EDIT: Almost forgot- EXCITING NEWS! Globe announced a mini-album release for August, with a Band Version of Soldier. Should be cool.

@ Brad: I didn't call into the radio show, but I IMed in a few times... @ Molotov: Ooh, live M-Flo. That one's good; I enjoyed it. Awesome about the early graduation stuff... what's your major? (Apologies if you posted it somewhere else; I don't recall seeing it.) @ Joseph: Have you seen the album art for Nami's "Specialty" yet? I'm curious to know what you think of it, though I'm not sure if the CD+DVD version is an exact match to the plain CD one. Personally, I think it's pretty neat; the CD+DVD version that I got has a bunch of shots of Nami's face, made up in different styles and with different hair colors. My favorites are the one of her in blue with her eyes closed (under the CD), and the one on the far right insert (pink sunglasses and a butterfly on her fingernail). @ the world at large: (haha, that was a World of Move pun, get it? *bricked*) Nami's new album is quite good, IMO. I'm not particularly thrilled by some of the stuff that made it in off the singles versus what didn't make the cut (for example, I'd have much rather seen "Result" on there than "CASTAWAY"), but the new songs on there are all pretty good. My favorites are "IDentity" and "No Way Back". For some reason, and maybe it's just me, but Nami's voice sounds very powerful in "No Way Back". "Ready Steady Go!" kind of amused me when I saw the song title, because it made me think of L'arc~en~Ciel. *smirk* But, like Nami's "Sanctuary" (love that song, btw) sounds nothing like Utada's song of the same name, Nami's "Ready Steady Go!" sounds nothing like L'arc's. The DVD's cute; four songs from one of her concerts. I particularly enjoyed watching her perform "MY WAY" - the WHOLE audience got in on the dance.

I guess that's true. And then I had to vocalize what you said, or what you made me say. You're never on AIM anymore. I heard part of an M-Flo cover of an Utada song, Final Distance. I'd heard another M-Flo song before that was great, but I can't remember its name. Oh wait, Astrosexy, I think that was it. Great song.
So, Nami's songs with the same names as more recognizable songs... are they covers? Or just songs with the same name?
I've been listening to a lot of Mika Nakashima lately. I want to get one of her albums. I almost glomped my computer when I found out that the music to Glamorous Sky was composed by Hyde of L'arc~en~ciel.
I've also started rewatching my Loveless anime. I even joined a Loveless forum.

Actually, I'm always on AIM, but I'm not going to get into that.
I've also heard an M-Flo version of an Utada song; that one was "Distance".
Nami's two songs aren't covers at all. They're completely different; they just have the same titles as other songs I've heard recently.
I have heard of Loveless but have never seen it. Recently went to an anime convention, though, and have been intrigued by the concept of some series called "Death Note" which I may have to look into...

I see, well, whatever.
I've heard of Death Note, but other than that, I know nothing of it.
Loveless is a short series, only 12 episodes (of course, another series is always rumoured). It has some yaoi undertones, but it doesn't go to far into that.
It's a really neat story and the most recent anime I've seen in a while (it came out last Summer). The main character, Ritsuka is a psychologically fragile 12 year old, because his brother was murdered and set on fire in his previous school (with his body propped in Ritsuka's chair in the school).
The story starts two years after his brother died with Ritsuka starting at a new school (really, this sounds dumb, it'd be easier and better to have the change of schools take place soon after his death, but whatever).
After his first day of school, he makes a friend or two and meets Agatsuma Soubi, a 26 year old college student who claims to be Ritsuka's brother's Sentoki, that is, "Fighter" and that Seimei told him to protect Ritsuka from "The Seven Moons" who Soubi says was responsible for Seimei's death.
An interesting thing that sets Loveless apart from other anime I've seen is its use of cat ears and tails. In Loveless, people are born with cat ears and cat tails and that when they "grow up" they lose them. It's not in my nature to explain how this happens... and this adds another layer to the whole arc.

Mystical: I don't know if I've said it here or not, so don't worry. I'm a mechanical engineer, and my research is in fuel cells in particular, but advanced energy systems in general.

Oh, Specialty! It totally slipped my mind! I too have a CDJapan coupon that hasn't expired yet. I might as well wait until next Wednesday to buy it because that's when Ami's new single "Like a Love" comes out. I look forward to hearing all of Nami's songs.
Liz, you buy a lot of Nami's singles? You must really like her. Try getting Molotov to buy singles -- it's near impossible, LOL.
Molotov, I'm thinking I will probably get Globe's new mini-album that you mentioned.
My music group Myth Guard's next release will be called "Celestial Roundelay." When I looked for what to call this new song, I was randomly skimming a version of the Mathnawi (Rumi) book and it mentioned a celestial roundelay, so that what I decided to name the song. Besides, one of the main instruments will be a celesta (orchestra bells). It's very light and fanciful. It will even have a B-side song called "Living on Mars" which Brad has heard already. Both of the songs will be instrumental -- there are no lyrics. They will be available on my page sometime in August.
By the way, did anybody else get an email from YesAsia regarding their new clothing website YesStyle.com?

@ Joseph: nada on the YesAsia email. I got nothin'. I buy more from CDJapan anyway, though... I have to admit this - nuu, I did not spend money on Nami's singles. T__T I downloaded them... but I did buy her album, so that's got to count for something, yes? XD; I buy Move's singles, though... Of course, I might have purchased Nami's "MY WAY", "Result", and "Sanctuary" if I had been employed at the time; I feel more inclined to spend money when I'm still making it; during the school year I try not to binge-shop. Thus why I spend more money in the summer, while I'm at my job. Still, I consider myself pretty good at managing my money. Very cool song titles; I look forward to hearing them. ^^V @ Molotov: Sounds baffling... ^^; I'm not so good at technology, myself; that's why I stuck to majoring in a language. If I start feeling particularly ambitious, I might couple it with a business minor/second major, but I'm not really sure yet which I'd rather do... At any rate, I wish you luck with graduating early... though once you leave college, I hear you'll be dying to go back for the rest of your working life. XD; @ Brad: Somehow, I feel a lot less surprised than I should that there's a Japanese cartoon about a kid whose brother got killed and set on fire right in front of him... I've been spending too much time around Japanese people/things, I think. XD The cat ears things makes me think of my dorm's first-floor RA... she wears cat ears, a tail, and dresses in the gothic lolita style on a daily basis and meows at people to get their attention. o.O; She scares me a little...

Seimei wasn't set on fire in front of Ritsuka, he was found there the next day. Actually, yesterday I fixed a friends PC in exchange for Loveless manga, so hopefully I can find out "more of the story." Seeing as how the issues are like, $30 and I worked on his comp for 6 hours, I think I'm making less than minimum wage. It was fun though.
I totally LOVE the gothic lolita style and really want one of those dresses and a jacket I saw on Mana's clothing store's website a while back. Well, actually a friend wanted the dress, I just wanted the jacket.
Also, I really want to meet this RA of yours. I tend to meow at people sans cat ears.

Ah, I stand corrected. By the same token, there probably still IS a manga/anime out there somewhere where some kid's sibling gets set on fire right in front of them... hmm...
I don't really go for the gothic lolita thing... possibly because it involves dresses and I prefer pants, but meh. Oh yeah, and frills. Hate frills. They itch. And are frilly. >.>;
Ner, Mika (the RA chick) actually really scares the crap out of me. I met her my very first day at UMass... I was wearing my "Yaoi: My Anti Drug" t-shirt that I bought at the con, and she was one of the people checking in the new students at the registration office. She saw me and was like, "OHMYGOOOOOOOOD!!!" and came over and tackled me and started babbling something about how she was going to stalk me from now on and eventually she just HAS to put my hair in odangos. *facepalm* I avoid her the best I can. She's nice, but she's scary, and she gets drunk on the weekends and is even more terrifying when she's not in control of herself. x . x; She also likes to grope people. Strangers, even. But I dare say there's not a single person on campus who doesn't know who she is...

Sounds like my kind of person, randomly glomping people.
I love frills, and dresses, why sometimes late at night when my sister's not here, I go through her closest and put on some of her dresses. They look SO GREAT on me, it's not even funny.
Also Joe, isn't a celesta a kind of piano looking thing?
