Joe Ward? I knew that guy, we all told him he'd go far with his Myth Guard thing. Little did we know that some Japanese producer named Tetsuya would put him on his label. Whatever happened to him?

Thanks so much for your support guys! The Myth Guard Official Site is now online. I really ought to get some pictures. Its layout is user-friendly, but boring. I will put links to my new song on it when it comes out on Wednesday. Don't forget to check the "Other" section, where I now host one Bach song and one Beethoven song.

*appears* Wasn't sure if people other than Mo & Joe could participate in here...
LIZ HAS (temporarily) HIJACKED THE MO & JOE THREAD wahahahahaha and so forth. *is slightly hyper from having to repress all emotion in order to survive work today*
Anyway... Joseph, very cool that you're writing Japanese songs. I envy your skillz. I'm on the site in another window right now... I CAN READ SOME OF THE KANJI, YAAAAY! *proud of herself* Not a whole heck of a lot, but it's more than I knew at the beginning of college...
Huzzah for the translation, though, because my proficiency's not up to par yet. @__@;
And now, because everyone should have raving fans - WOOHOO! FIRST SONG'S RELEASED TOMORROW! *spaz*flail*dance*

Anyone is more than welcome to join in this thread. It's just called that because it stemmed from out one-on-one convos that kept popping up in different sections around the site.

I've already heard the song, tis good. Joe, is the version released tomorrow vocalized or will it be just the instrumental?

Liz, LTNS (long time no see)! Glad to see ya again. And as Molotov said, you're more than welcome to post here. I hope you will like my song. I've learned a lot of Japanese words listening to Jpop. I wish I had a singer for my song.
Variable, it will just be a MIDI file because I haven't hired a singer yet. The voice will be imitated by a whistle-y type sound, just as before. There will also be an "instrumental" version available without the simulated voice. I plan to hire a singer for the song at a later time, when I upgrade my music software (all that will cost a lot).
Lately, I've been interested in a lot of other music besides my own. I'm almost done programming Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor -- I'm in love with the song; it's magnificent. I'm determined that I'm programming it as Bach would have wanted it to be played. It is literally 9 pages of sheet music, and I've finished 8 pages so far, so it will be available in the "Other music" section soon. I also plan to add more classical songs there in the future.

Wheeee~ *just gave it a listen* Very upbeat tune you've got there, but without overdoing the 'genki' factor. The part that starts from 2:26 into it sounds familiar somehow... was it inspired by anything particular, or am I just having weird deja vu? Speaking of singers, have you made any decisions as to whether you'd rather have a female or a male vocalist? Just listening to the midi, I can't think which would sound better with the song... Brad, random note here, but having read back through a few posts - Billie sang back when I was young enough to have a babysitter! XD I have her first (I think) CD... I heard something of hers on the radio waaaaaay back when we first moved to the new house (like, seven years ago) and it prompted the purchase. Didn't know she acted, too, though...

When I first heard it, I told Joe that the section starting at 2:40 was very Two-Mixish, 2:26 did sound like a song I recognize as well...
Would not surprise me if Joe channeled Two-Mix a little too much.
Liz, Billie Piper is less than a month older than me, she was born September 22, 1982, her singing career lasted from 1999 to sometime in 2001 or 2002. She became an actress in 2003, so yeah, it has been seven or so years since she sang comercially. That would mean that you were 9 to 11 or so, wow, that was a long time ago. My older brother and I often remark about how old we've gotten. We're both in our mid twenties.
I never heard of her before she appeared on Doctor Who, I love her songs "Day and Night" and "I Dream" I have her Greatest Hits album (in MP3s), but I don't enjoy all of them like I enjoy those two.
It is nice having the forum active again, even if it is on three topics.

Although that part is similar to a Two-Mix song, I went with it anyway because it's different pitches, it's in a different key, and it has a different number of notes in the melody. The way that a lot of new art works is that they imitate their role models at first, and then they veer off more and more into their own style. I'll definitely be careful in the future though. I've already started another song, non-vocal this time, that has nothing to do with Two-Mix.
Liz, I'm thinking of a female vocalist because that's what I'm more accustomed to. I know absolutely nothing about the vocal recording process!

Sounds pretty cool. I'd definitely like to hear it with some vocals, though, to round it out.

Thanks. Maybe vocals will come some day. Know any cheap opera singers who can sing in two languages? lol.
After listening to a bit of Malice Mizer lately, I can tell that they're really infused in the baroque style. I heard references to Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D minor in not one, not two, but three different MM songs. They must like that song as much as I do! MM is coming out with another single collection on July 19.
After listening to all the baroque music that I could get my hands on, I've reached that conclusion that baroque music tends to be high and mighty (e.g. "Hallelujah Chorus") like it was for royalty; it's never sleazy.

Seeing as how this is the most read topic, I'll post this here instead of making its own topic.
I might not be around for a while. My father's in the hospital with who-knows-what at the moment.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Brad. I'll pray for him and you keep us updated.
YesAsia has finally shipped Delta Two Universe! Hooray!
Check this out: You won't believe it. On II Mix Delta's Official site, it has this for the tracklisting:
Delta Two Universe tracklisting: 01 Eien yori nagaku isshun yori mijikaku [Shorter than a long instant from eternity] 02 Wazato tsuyoku karameta yubi [Finger coiled strongly on purpose] 03 Dokuhaku [Soliloquy] 04 Shoukei [Yearning] 05 Sakihokoru monogatari [Fairytale in full bloom] 06 Ikite yuku sekai [Living world]
It is so anomalistic for Two-Mix to have so many Japanese song titles. To make matters even stranger, YesAsia has a completely different tracklisting for this album:
Delta Two Universe tracklisting: 01 Don't Stop 02 Roller through go-go 03 B'bye 04 Station 75 05 I Know You Got Soul 06 Goodbye Summer 07 Scof All-Stars 08 Yuuyake no Uta [Sunset song] 09 Daikanyama 10 Machibouke [Somebody] 11 Space, Cycling, Over The Future 12 Saturday 13 Hello Autumn 14 Daylight 15 1 to 20 16 Moonshine 17 Everyday 18 Right, Left, 1,2, Step 19 Landing 20 Bingo Bongo Sounds
"Bingo Bongo Sounds"? This tracklisting is shocking (but exciting)! It's got 20 tracks?! Plus, both of them have different covers-- the YesAsia CD cover is green and the II Mix Delta Official site CD cover is yellow. I can't make heads or tails of these tracklists. I checked HMV Japan, CD Japan, and Amazon Japan too, but none of them have told the tracklist. Will the real tracklisting please stand up?? They can't both be right, can they? I wish they were so I could get both!
Apparently "roller through go-go" is an old-fashioned Japanese mini-scooter. Daikanyama is the name of a place in Japan.
BTW, I thought I'd mention... a few weeks ago, I was telling my brother about my music hobby and he asked me, "How do you write a song?" I thought that question was kind of like asking "How do you draw a picture?" Once you have a general idea, you choose the medium [key signature and instruments], and then you just start drawing the first line, and go from there.
