So, if any of you follow Ayumi, you know that a few weeks ago, she released her latest album. If you haven't heard it yet, it's kind of a mixture of girl-rock and pop. A pretty different sound compared to the rest of her CDs. So I'm kind of wondering, do you think this album is going to continue the tradition of Ayumi remixes (i.e. Ayu-Mi-X 6, Ayuro 4, Ayu Trance 4)? It just seems to me that, even on the singles, the amount of Ayu remixes has dwindled and that the normal remix albums may not be made this time.

i am a huge ayu fan. The remix sales have dwindled down so much that avex arent making any money off of the ayu mixes anymore. Ayuromix 1 sold 1,500,000 copies on its own. Ayuromix 3 with the ayumix 5 non stop megamix and ayu trance only sold 250,000 between them all. It was very very poor sales. So i dont think that theyll release any more (or as frequently) the remix cds. There is a acousitc orchestra version coming out called MY Story Classic out in March 24 www.towerrecords.co.jp/sitemap/CSfCardMain.jsp?GOODS_NO=835160&GOODS_SORT_CD=101

I have to wonder if the last ones didn't sell as well simply because Avex sold them all at the same time. Seems that doing so makes the three remix albums compete with each other, which I don't think happened with the others since they were spaced out.

I would think that the next remix albums will be out when Ayu gets another original album out...and I hope it's not soon. Until then, she needs more stabilize herself with singles that are similar to "evolution", "vogue", "M", etc. Ballads are nice and everything, but she's doing waaaaay too many. I got turned off of Ayu since her album "Rainbow" came out.
And what was the deal with the "RMX WORKS" label on her three latest remix albums anyways?

ayus had a new album out a month ago Kenji-Kun and it sold huge amounts!! And I dont think it mattered they were out on the same day as they would have sold more than 250,000 altogether. People woulda still bought at least one of them. The ayu trance and ayuromix albums were released on the same day before and they ayumix 2's were all releeased on the same day and they owned the top 5 of th charts. its that avex half assed the mixes and used cheap dj's and people want more original albums now i think. RMX works was a name they wanted to use for Ayus mixes for now on. Obviousy it didnt work

I WISH Avex would go back to making singles the way they used to. But, apparently, the new trend is just to have the snigle, a B-side, the instrumentals, and MAYBE (if you're really lucky) a remix or two. Ugh...
