I just picked up a Gackt CD, it's called MOON. It's pretty good. I like it. There is one song called Speed Master that sounds pretty good.
I heard somewhere that Gackt once was with some band called Malice Miser or something. I've never heard any of their music, but with a name like that, it's gotta be hard rock.

Mishkuu told me about Malice Miser when I asked about Visual Kei. To me, Visual Kei is sometimes like a blatant show-off of gawdy display, but then I am conservative.
I'm not really all that concerned with appearances. When I bought my Two-Mix CD in Little Tokyo, one of my friends looked at Minami and Shiina and said that they don't look too hot, lol.
Speaking of artists that don't look too hot, Noritaka, the instrumentalist from Changin' My Life, has a somewhat rough and wrinkly face. That's okay though, because to me, truth is beauty and beauty is truth, and that's what really matters.

*cries after reading the beginning of Joseph's post* Visual Kei isnt just some gawdy display. -> Every band has a specific look to them, and their look matches the way they sound. (gothic, rock, etc) That's how they express themselves - they are visually creative as well as in their songs. And for another thing, its Malice Mizer, and yes Gackt used to be the singer for the group. He left around the time of Kami's (the drummer and his best friend) death to go solo. After that singer Klaha took over. Guys please check out some Malice Mizer. I recommend thses songs: Beast of Blood, Le Ciel, Color Me Blood Red, Illuminati, etc. Malice Mizer is gothic rock and kicks ass *dances* Brad listen to more Gackt, he has a lot of ranges and hes pretty awesome -ME-

I plan on expanding my J-POP to include more than just MOVE and TWO-MIX, so I will check them out That way, I'll be able to tell people about more than just those 2 bands, I'll be able to get more people into J-POP if I know of a band that plays similarly to what they already like. I have no idea where to get some Mizer though.

I've been listening to my Gackt CD more. I really like this one song called "DoomsDay".
The wierd thing, is he uses a lot of "Female Japanese" But, he sounds good.

I like Gackt's song "Vanilla". I know it can be found in his "Mars" album.
There was a rumour about that song because he whispers "Kami-sama" within the song...suggesting some yaoi between him and the late drummer of Malice Mizer.

No i dont think so, they were best friends - almost like brothers. (best friends before they made it big with Mizer) There is a more famous song that he made for Kami. (which i highly recommend) Emu~ for my dear. Oh Brad, if you do a search for Malice Mizer under J-Pop, you won't get many hits - use J-rock. Gackt can be put under J-Pop and J-Rock. He goes back and forth There is a huge difference between japanese rock and pop.

Okay, I was planning on eventually checking out Alta Vista's AUDIO section and search for some more of their stuff.
And Mish, about earlier: I hope that we can still be friends and that you don't hate me now.

Hehe, about my comment before, I know it wasn't true. But it did appear in a lot of fanfics though. Anyways, I've managed to leech two of Malice Mizer's albums using IRC: "Bara No Seido" and "Merveilles".

What is this difference between Jpop and Jrock that you speak of?

It's just a thin line separating 2 different ideologies.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, yeah I found the song Illuminati. It has a nice feel to it and I like that weird beat in the background, sounds like one of the instruments they used was an 8-bit Nintendo. This is dark and cool, I feel evil just listening to it.

I've loaded a few Mizer songs down (all were from the same album the Illuminati came from). I like that one song, Suiskiss (sp?) That song is the shizzzzzz
And Richard, he's not a wacko, that's just how he's known.

Brad, we are still friends Why wouldnt we be? JROCK is less uh.. bouncy than JPOP. Compare rock here in the usa with it's pop. In both countries, they can be told apart pretty well. I love JROCK, its so different than anything that i've heard before JROCK: Gothic Rock Alternative Dark Techno Regular Rock Punk etc.
