The other day I wanted to buy Two-Mix's single "Lightning Evolution" and ShiinaTactix (who is basically like Two-Mix with a different singer) album "BPM151Tactix." I tried to buy them on Amazon Japan, but the page wouldn't let me because I'm outside Japan! The products are provided by an independent seller who doesn't sell the USA directly (even the MP3 download versions could not be purchased from the USA - unacceptable!).
So I decided to try my hand at ordering these using CDJapan's new Special Request Shopping Service. It's a service that can be used if you can't or don't want to purchase a product on another Japanese site but get it from CDJapan.
I filled out the form telling them the name of the products I wanted (surprisingly, the form does not let you type in Japanese kana/kanji - only English and romaji are acceptable). They need to know the URL where you found it, the quantity, and product information.
They emailed me less than 2 days later saying they were able to special order that, and they listed my products on CDJapan. Then I could add it to my cart as usual. (You're not required to order it - if you just want to figure it out first, you can just place a request without ordering it.)
Note: Special request products and normal listed products can't be placed in the same order. I tried this, lol.
The service fee for this is ¥1500 if your order is less than ¥5000 total, and ¥2000 if your order is between ¥5000-¥9999 total.
Mine was ¥4410, so they rolled ¥1500 into the price of Lightning Evolution, making for a total of ¥5910. After normal EMS shipping charge of ¥1500, the grand total was ¥7410 or $88.07. My CDs are on their way!
Oh, and if you request more than one item, you must purchase them all at the same time because the ¥1500 fee is only included in one of the items' price! They'll cancel your order if you don't.
This isn't the only service like this in the world, but CDJapan's Special Request Shopping Service worked for me! It may be helpful to you because I know most of us encounter a rare Japanese product at some point we wanna get!
