Here is my write-up of the concert last night!01. Platinum (10 years remix)
02. Party Nation
-motsu teased T-Kimura about how he never talks at concerts. T-Kimura ducked and hid behind his keyboard. motsu started a cheer with the crowd to try to coax him out: TAKASHI! TAKASHI! TAKASHI! He came out of hiding but still wouldn't speak.
03. Gamble Rumble
04. DIVE INTO STREAM
05. SAIL AWAY
06. come together
-yuri gave a very emotional thanks to T-Kimura for all the guidance he's given her throughout her career with him and got all choked up, causing her to have a difficult time singing the next song.
07. DEEP CALM
08. Reality
-motsu's microphone died in the middle of singing Reality and he had to keep switching with yuri. When the song ended, they finally made T-Kimura talk. He discussed how long he's been making music and commented that one of his kids is already a second year student in school, which caused shock among the crowd. He tried to clam back up but motsu started another cheer and convinced him to keep talking. He introduced the rest of the live band. motsu was making a lot of jokes at the time. He said that Hiroki's mom probably cries over the number of tattoos he has, and that even though the banner for the show said "m.o.v.e are yuri, motsu, and T-Kimura" since T-Kimura is leaving, and ASAKI has been with them the longest, maybe his name should have been on the banner, too.
09. GHETTO BLASTER
10. DOGFIGHT
-motsu asked the crowd where they came to Shibuya from and everyone started shouting out names of cities. He also apologized to yuri at this point for having stolen her microphone during Reality. She laughed and said she had wondered what that was about. Then motsu started reminiscing about their very first album, electrock, and asked how many people in the audience own a copy. Almost everyone did, and he and yuri were surprised and kept asking, "Really? You're not lying to make us feel better?"
11. It's Only Love
12. BLAZABILITY
-motsu started up his traditional, "Everybody say 'ho!'" chant, and then followed it up with another round of chanting "Takashi!"
13. PLANET ROCK
-The band left the stage. Everyone hollered T-Kimura's name and demanded an encore.
14. Blazin' Beat
-motsu checked the nico video comments and got upset because people kept typing "88888888888". He explained a running joke among Japanese m.o.v.e fans. Back before Avex Trax changed its logo, their logo looked like the number 8. Now the fans associate m.o.v.e with the number 8 because of Avex's logo. "But it's NOT an 8!" motsu kept insisting, but nobody listened to him and everyone kept typing "8888888888" and he gave up.
-Then they divided the audience into a yuri team (the left side of the room) and a motsu team (the right side of the room) to have a cheering contest. motsu's team went first and although people cheered, someone could be heard shouting "yuri's the best" and he said, "Be quiet! I'm sorry; it's yuri's turn." yuri's team cheered the loudest and won. But then, T-Kimura suddenly spoke up (and everyone was shocked) and said, "Who's on the Kimura team?" and the whole room exploded with cheers. yuri gave up her title as winner to T-Kimura.
-Finally, motsu took on a more serious tone and talked about how it's cherry blossom season in Japan. He reminisced about all the work he's done with T-Kimura over the years. He said that their next song was a very fitting melody for the occasion. He said it was an important song to T-Kimura and that it was symbolic of how they all felt. He got all choked up and couldn't sing the intro.
15. KEEP ON MOVIN'
-The band left the stage again. The crowd again started chanting "Takashi!" and "Encore!" Members of the staff brought out a large white banner with "Thank you, Kimura-san!" written on it, which was signed by everyone who attended the live, as well as yuri, motsu, and the band and staff. m.o.v.e came back on stage and motsu presented the banner to T-Kimura, who thanked everyone profusely and got all teary-eyed.
-Then the band came out on stage with a bunch of sashes and flowers and a big yellow hat and dressed T-Kimura up in them (he was really embarrassed). One of the sashes said "I <3 shinse" ("shinse" is short for "synthesizer", which T-Kimura is most well-known for in his music). motsu picked up something off the floor. It was a little round piece of paper. He said, "Hmm, what's this? It says, 'Next, m.o.v.e will play "Lookin' on the Sunny Side - Surprise Version"' Well, let's do it, then!"
-The surprise version of the song had a different opening rap sequence from the album version of the song. motsu had rewritten it to say goodbye to T-Kimura in m.o.v.e's own special way.
16. Lookin' on the Sunny Side (Surprise Version)
-Finally, they announced that this was the last song (for real this time). T-Kimura played the keyboard in all his crazy new clothes (and throughout the song, kept pulling random objects out of the hat, which amused everyone). The crowd got a hold of a bunch of red balloons and started throwing them around, and yuri was batting them away from her as she sang.
17. Gamble Rumble
-T-Kimura was given a big gun-looking thing by one of the staff, which he pointed at the crowd. He thanked everyone for their love and support, and said that it had been a crazy ride, and one that he was very fortunate to have been a part of. He kept giving thanks to all the m.o.v.e staff, band, and of course, yuri and motsu. Then he fired the gun into the crowd, releasing a blast of streamers and confetti.
-yuri, motsu, and the band re-joined him on stage and they all held hands and bowed. They said their thanks and goodbyes, and left the stage.
And that was it. ; . ;
A few extra little bits and pieces that I want to talk about that had no place in the write-up:-The comments on nico video were incredibly fun! When people from the forum commented in English, the Japanese fans were all shocked and excited to see that there were fans watching from overseas. ^_^V
-I was incredibly proud of myself for being the first one in the comments to recognize the intro to SAIL AWAY! All the Japanese commenters were going, "Which song is it?!" and "?????" and I said, "SAIL AWAY!" and they were all like, "OH! It really is SAIL AWAY!" I felt like a true fan. :D
-When yuri started crying during DEEP CALM, the commenters all started typing, "Don't cry! It's okay!" and "Be strong, yuri-chan; FIGHT!" and other words of encouragement, and it was really great. Then someone typed, "Hey, don't forget about motsu!" and someone responded, "But it goes without saying that motsu's awesome!" and everyone laughed.
-Everyone in the comments was joining in for the "TAKASHI!" and "ho-ho-ho!" and "encore!" chants. The words were flying by so fast that if people tried to write anything else, they got lost in the flood.
-This happened again during the 88888 discussion. I wish I had a better grasp of what the joke is. All I've managed to figure out is that it's because of Avex Trax's old logo being shaped like an 8, but I'm not 100% sure of the significance to m.o.v.e in particular, since there are plenty of other bands on that label. It REALLY gets on motsu's nerves, though!
-I finally figured out what the chant is at the beginning of Blazin' Beat. Apparently it's "wanko". I have no idea what it means, but that's what the commenters kept typing. I will have to investigate.
-People in the comments also kept re-naming the songs to things like, "Kimura Nation" instead of "Party Nation" and "KIMURA FIGHT" instead of DOGFIGHT.
-The video froze at two points, and all the commenters were "screaming" -- "NO! IT STOPPED! BRING IT BACK! WHY, NICO VIDEO, WHY?!" After the first time, motsu looked at the screen and noticed it had happened and apologized. (During SAIL AWAY.)
-I kept trying to get motsu's attention when he looked at the screen to tell him that there were overseas fans by typing long strings of English (so they would stick out from all the Japanese comments; I tried them in Japanese, too) but if he saw them, he didn't say anything. ; . ; I think that they can read through the comments later, though, so hopefully m.o.v.e will know we were there!
-After Planet Rock, it took a very long time for them to come out for the encore. One of the nico video commenters wrote, "It's because motsu-san is taking too long in the bathroom!" and everyone laughed hysterically.
-While motsu was introducing KEEP ON MOVIN', his headphones fell off, which kind of broke up the tension, since he was trying to be all serious. XD;
If I think of anything else I forgot, or if anyone else remembers something I forgot, feel free to correct me! It was VERY early in the morning when I was watching. I went to bed at 6am! XD
