Me too, I stopped playing FF7 right before Aeris leaves the group just before *it* happens. Brad, I cried too! I was watching my brother play it, and when I saw that, I went up to my room and sobbed.
A few weeks ago, I was watching X-Play, and they showed *that* scene with Aeris!! I was almost at the point of screaming!
As for the best villain in Japan, I have no idea. But I do like the monsters on Gate Keepers 21, because they are just normal people who don't want to live better. That's exactly like the monsters in my favourite comic book series, Route 666.

At least I wasn't the only one traumatized by that scene.

I cried too. Hard. Like a little baby. For at least an hour.
Even though it's just a game, it felt like someone I loved in real life had died. I was so mad at the Squaresoft; Sephiroth didn't kill her, they did.
For anyone who hasn't played FFVII, and thinks we're pathetic, imagine watching a movie where someone you've grown to care about dies, and you get a tear in your eye, or sob a little bit--This was like that, only about ten times worse. Since video games are interactive, you really become part of that world much more than an un-interactive movie.

I should cosplay as Sephiroth so that girls can come up and play with my hair

Fun....huh.
One guy dressed as Sephy and went to one of those conventions where he found it was a memorial service to the first woman to die in FF series by story. He was never heard from again.
