What are your most favorite albums of all time, Japanese or otherwise? (If you have trouble deciding, ask yourself if you could listen to only one album the rest of your life, what would it be?)
There's the age-old question: should you think less of an album because it has some bad songs on it? The answer is that it's really up to you. Some albums just have a "good feeling" about them, whether they have a lot of pretty good songs on them, or a few amazing songs mixed with some average ones. I put a lot of thought into this list, and I know that some people will probably think my choices are ridiculous, but here's the albums I really like:
1. Dream World - Dream 2. 0G - Two-Mix 3. BPM Best Files - Two-Mix 4. Fantastix - Two-Mix 5. Maximum - Max 6. BPM 143 - Two-Mix 7. BPM 150MAX - Two-Mix 8. Rhythm Formula - Two-Mix 9. Center Color - Megumi Hayashibara 10. Level 4 - Globe 11. Abba Generation - A*Teens 12. Process - Dream 13. Single and Single - M-Two -MinaMiru- 14. Dear - Dream 15. Feel Well - Megumi Hayashibara
(I'll probably change my mind about some of the ranks right after I post this, but overall this is a pretty good overview of the albums I love the most.)

Andrew, I'm so surprised Globe's Level 4 did not make it on your list! What gives?

Yeah, I know. I still love the album, it's just that I find myself not really wanting to listen to it as much lately. I think I may have burnt myself out of it when I first got it.

The items on my list are only ones I like to listen to these days too.
I remember when I first got Lights 2. I used to listen to Knockin' on the door of my heart (I loved the zither sounds near the end of the song) and Inspired from Red & Blue. I believe you said you like Hitori goto.
I've just made one of my friends into a Globe fan. He really liked Out of © Control when I played it for him, so I gave him a few songs.
But hey, look at me, I've traditionally been a Two-Mix-head. I remember in my freshman year of college how I listened to BPM Cube everyday. And how I ordered 0G the day it came out and "Into the Wind" became my favorite song of all time. That song changed my outlook on life.
For me, Dream World is it. Those techno-trance songs are so cool. Two years after the album came out, I still get excited to listen to it.
I seriously considered putting Lasgo's new album Far Away on the list, since they make the best techno in the world these days. But for me, the lyrics are almost as important as the instruments-- and in the lyrics all I feel is romantic tension.

Yeah, I totally avoided American CDs 'cuz it would have made it like 100x's more difficult.

I just bought Ian Van Dahl's new album Lost & Found and it is stellar. Ian Van Dahl and Lasgo are two dance/trance groups from Belgium. They both have the same instrumentalists-- Peter Luts and David Vervoot, so they're like sister groups. Both of the groups' new albums are awesome. Ian Van Dahl has lyrics that are a little more to my liking, I think. It's not all about romantic anxiety like Lasgo. I really enjoy both groups though.

I've been listening to techno for at least as long as j-pop, but the only techno CD I've ever bought is Groove Coverage's Cover Girl (the Asian version that came with a bonus remix CD). I just can't seem to get myself to buy techno CD's regularly. It's always just been "the music I can download if I really want." Don't know why. My fave techno groups are Groove Coverage, Special D, and Novaspace. I tend to like stuff that's labeled more as "Eurodance." Used to have a bunch of CD-R's with that stuff on it 'till I gave it to my friend in Orlando.

Really? I would have thought you would have owned more techno CDs. I have been listening to Ian Van Dahl - Lost & Found a bajillion times, and I am so incurably hooked on the trance sounds. The lyrics truly are wonderful. My favorite line is-- "It's time to live your life; don't cry for yesterday."
I basically only listen to techno/dance (except for short, occasional interruptions of other stuff), and I think I'm unique in that, but am I that unique? I don't know one other person in the world who only listens to techno. Does anyone know anybody else in the whole world who only listens to techno? For all I know, I might be the only one!

Actually, I do know someone like you. A friend of mine that I met in college used to be a Party Kid, until he realized that he really needed to start concentrating on his school work if he was going to make it into grad school like he wanted to. So basically, techno's all he listens to now. His knowledge of the genre is way beyond what I thought was possible.
