So, there's a big ol' link on electropica's main page today regarding a new magazine that m.o.v.e's going to be putting out to inform people of what's going on. The link leads here.
A translation, to the best of my ability:
Be notified of the latest information from m.o.v.e
If members sign up, they will be notified of this information by mail.
In order to receive this important information, please input the necessary information into the following form.
The present (a song) is only available until 3/31! Please act quickly!
Important Points:
-Before registering, it is necessary to follow the terms of registration
You only have to agree to the overall information, so please do so.
-Distribution (of the magazine) is irregular.*
-In the case of people registering with mobile phones, make sure to correctly enter the information regarding the model of phone and the manufacturer.
(*Note: I believe this just means that they can't guarantee that it will take the same amount of time to get mailed to everyone that signs up, since it's done via email.)
Registering for the Mail Magazine:
-On the registration form, enter your email address in English characters (romaji) and click the "Send Registration Confirmation Email" button.
-Once you submit the registration, an email will automatically be sent to your address. If you click the link provided in the email, your registration will be completed.
To Change Your Registered Email Address:
-First, in the "Mail Magazine Registration Cancellation" form, enter the email address you originally registered with, and press the "Cancel Registration" button, and then you may re-register with a new email address following the same procedure as before.
To Cancel Your Registration:
-In the "Mail Magazine Registration Cancellation" form, enter your registered email address, and press the "Cancel Registration" button.
This is all followed by three text boxes:
1. Register via email
2. Register via mobile phone email
3. Cancel registration
The buttons next to each text box are the corresponding submission buttons.
I believe that's all there is to it. I can't see anything on the Terms and Conditions page that bans foreigners from accessing the service. I'm trying it myself right now to be sure.
You put in your email address in the top textbox and get a screen that says, "A confirmation email will now be sent to (your email address). Please click the URL in that email to finish registering."
Got the email. It says,
"You have registered with this email address: (my email address)
You have five days to click the following URL to finish registering. If you do not click the link within five days, it will become invalid and you will have to register again."
Then there are three URLs:
1. Confirm registration
2. Terms and Conditions
3. Cancellation
Click the top link and you get a page that says your email address and there's a small button ("Confirm"). Press the button and it will thank you for registering and send you a second email.
Now comes the fun part!
Email says:
"You have successfully registered.
Registered email: (my email address)
Date of registration: 2009/01/10 04:23:32
You receive a free gift (a song) for registering! Please access it by clicking the following link!
I click the link... and hit a snag. It's a QR Code; my friggin' favorite. Not to be deterred, I downloaded a program to read QR Codes on my computer! It worked! I got the URL! ...Aaaaaand my browser won't recognize it. And I'm stuck.
Grr...
Hopefully someone will have better luck than I did. The song is Step Into Shangri-La.
*goes off to cry in a corner*
